Sports Complex

The University has established it self as a leading centre in sports in the region and is presently catering to the sports need of Children, Youths and old People of Greater Gwalior by organising regular Yogic classes and scientific coaching camps in different games and sports. The Sports Complex has got two floodlight basketball courts with portable uprights, three floodlight tennis courts, four vollyball courts (caged) one hockey ground, one grassy football ground, standard cricket groud with turf wicket, one Kho-Kho, two Kabaddi, one Handball, one Indoor hall for Table Tennis, Judo, Aerobic, Badminton, Wrestling and Weight Lifting and a 400 m. grassy track. The sports complex of university is named as Mahadji Scindia Sports Complex.

The newly constructed Gymnasium which is one among the best in the Indian Universities with all modern facilities has been named as Madhav Rao Scindia Gymnasium.

Infrastructure

The school of studies in physical education has the best sports infrastructure of international level in the country such as:

  1. Madhav Rao Scindia Gymnasium – It is one of its own kind in the Indian Universities and is of 40 m x 32 m of size having facilities like Indoor Air Rifle & Pistol Shooting range, Billiards and Snooker Hall, Multi Gym Hall, Two Badminton Courts, One Indoor Volleyball Court, One Indoor Kabaddi Court with mats, One Indoor Basketball court, Table Tennis Hall, One Judo Practice Arena and One Wrestling Competition arena. In this gymnasium national and international level competitions can be organized as per international norms.

      1. Jiwaji University Hockey Women team secured 1st Position at West Zone Intervarsity Hockey Women Championship held at Rani Durgawati University, Jabalpur in Jan. 2016.
      2. Jiwaji University Hockey Women team secured 2nd Position at All India Inter-Zonal Hockey Women Championship held at M. D. University, Rohtak in March 2016.
      3. Jiwaji University Wrestler namely Ku. Rani Rana won Bronze Medal at All India Intervarsity Wrestling Women Championship held at University of Mysore, Mysore in January 2016.
      4. Ankit Sharma of Jiwaji University Represented India in Summer Olympic at Rio de janeiro (Brazil), 2016 in Long Jump.
      5. Jiwaji University Hockey Women team secured 1st Position at West Zone Intervarsity Hockey Women Championship held at LNIPE, Gwalior in Dec. 2016.
