Changes taking place both internationally and nationally is giving a totally new impetus to Indian business in 21st century. In general, the study of business management provides the necessary knowledge and the right aptitude to operate in such a scenario. Jiwaji University started MBA course in 1988. Since then School of Studies in Management has been providing trained and qualified executives to meet the needs of industry and business prosperity. This MBA course has already established sound reputation for its innovative teaching, contemporary research and enterprise in various functional areas of management. The students undergo rigorous class room learning which includes analysis of case studies, seminars, discussions, quiz etc. Industrial visits and in-company trainings are also the part of the programme to enable the students to have a direct interaction with the functionaries of corporate world.

Master of Applied Management (Five years/ Ten semesters)
Profile of the Course :
This five-year integrated programme in the field of management is one of the most lucrative programme to fulfill the desires of students to attain a significant leadership position at managerial level, entrepreneurial level, and social level in country and abroad.

Applied Management (AM) represents the principal focus of modern management with practical applications in the galaxy of managing business in the era of globalization, in the country and abroad. The proposed Master degree in AM is a unique integrated program that aims to provide undergraduates graduates and postgraduates with critical understanding of practical and operational relationships in optimum management of resources within 3-5 years. This program combines theoretical issues and the practical applications of management in the India and the wider world. Full consideration is given to the scientific, technical, legal, philosophical, financial and practical basis of business work in the context of public and private-sector development. In India, specifically in Madhya Pradesh, there is a need for applied management training because the state is highly rich in various resources andtraditional business. Studies in this area can help business draw together diverse subject materials from many specialist areas into a coherent corpus for the purpose of research and management.

Master of Applied Management is multi entry programme that would engage a student on significant areas and associated problems primarily from perspective of four disciplines namely technology, management, architecture and human sciences. Aimed for and restricted to maximum admission of only 60 fresh candidates, this master’s programme would be taught by faculty members from various specializations. It would provide the string that would empower students to connect to various perspectives of global business world.
Objectives :
Educating and prepare the students so that they can understand the capabilities of potential of employment. Grooming students such that they acquire managerial positions in manufacturing /services organizations or they begin and successfully carry personal venture(s) with worthy knowledge of business and administration. Not only that this program would provide job opportunities in SME segment, PSUs and MNCs but it would further facilitate the development and growth of students to get conditioned with increasing challenges, evolve alternatives and initiate resolutions those are globally viable, morally precise, and publically acceptable.
Degree awarded :
  • The course shall provide an undergraduate degree in three years or four years, (B.M./ B.A.M.) followed by a Master’s degree in five years (M.A.M.).
  • Award of a bachelor’s degree (B.M.) at the end of three years, if one wishes to discontinue the studies, or, award of a bachelor’s degree in Applied Management (B.A.M.) at the end of four years, and, award of Master’s degree in Applied Management (M.A.M.) at the end of five years.
Courses, specializations and modules :
Students would be categorized to four specializations on the basis of merit and their choice. They would be a part of an academic learning community and business world through their linkages with faculty members, staff and a small group of their batch mates, all of whom would be busy in integrating knowledge with business at various levels . They would gradually practice and demonstrate their skills in several broad areas of management and administration to cater the need of changing pace of business world. They would subsequently exhibit rhetorically effective means of abilities transversely in innumerable fluctuating and non- fluctuating contexts, drives, spectators, target groups and mass media using most suitable attitude and flair. Such knowledge and understanding cannot be gained solely by academic studies, practical experience of the methods and techniques used for planning, analyzing and managing such is imperative.

This program is basically for young ones who have just passed intermediate and want to have career in management field. This course provides the basic knowledge of management to students and generates managerial skills.
